Elijah Diaz is running for New York City Council to represent District 45.
FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN -- Elijah Diaz is a proud Flatbush native and alumni of PS 217, Ditmas I.S 62, and Midwood High School.
Growing up in Brooklyn, Elijah is no stranger to adversity.
At 18 months old, he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, leading to a life unknown without restrictions.
Growing up to a single mother of two, Elijah had taken his role as the man of his household at an early age, forcing him to mature beyond the expectations of an adolescent in modern era.
At age 17, Elijah received an athletic offer from DIII Purchase College where he studied Journalism and played Collegiate baseball traveling all around New York competing with top-talent in the state.
During his college years, he discovered a new passion for Business, and at age 19, began a new endeavor becoming the first Business owner in his family. This is where his advocacy for Small Businesses begins.
In this endeavor, he recognized that although 99% of the United States economy flows through Small Business, the Top 1% has an unprecedented advantage leading to significant barriers to entry and long-lasting success for Small Business owners.
In response, Elijah expanded his expertise into Financial Services, Marketing, Psychology and ultimately Politics, in an effort to advocate for the underrepresented and have the ability to create rational, common-sense changes based on factual evidence and the needs of the community he serves.
Having overcome struggles he faced as a minority, a person with a disability, and an aspiring Entrepreneur from a low-income family - Elijah flourished into a career in politics, to position himself to fight for New Yorkers experiencing systematic setbacks similar to those he experienced.
Elijah's candidacy for City Council makes New York City history, as he is the youngest-ever candidate at Age 22. He is also the first candidate to run against the Democratic Party in District 45 which includes Flatbush, East Flatbush, Midwood, Flatlands, and Marine Park.
As the first opponent to a previously single-party District, he opens the door for options and encourages other parties to run and advocate for issues and government offices that best suit the needs of the community.
His slogan "Leadership of the New Era" reflects his brand as the inspiration to the youth in Activism, Civic Engagement and Entrepreneurship; revealing himself as the prodigy of the Conservative movement in New York City.
New Yorkers back Elijah Diaz to represent District 45 in New York City Council because he understands and empathizes with all New Yorkers and takes immediate action to prevent chronic issues and swiftly resolve on-the-spot problems that directly affect New Yorkers.
He pledges to lead in his position in a transparent, authentic, inclusive, and honorable manner as he holds a great responsibility....
